Highlights
You and your group will join our family on the farm, meet our newborn lambs, check the pregnant ewes and learn a bit about what happens when a sheep gives birth. We will also visit any orphan lambs and give them lots of love and cuddles.
If a lamb happens to be born (this can’t be guaranteed for obvious reasons) during your visit, you and your family will be able to quietly watch what goes on while Tamsyn or Gordon talk you through the process.
You will also be able to help with day to day tasks on the farm such as bedding up, building pens and feeding livestock.
Lambing is such a joyful, happy and tiring time on the farm. However, please be aware that this is a real life experience. Although we do everything within our power to ensure that all births go well and healthy lambs are born, the reality is that this is not always possible. Unfortunately, at times there is sadness and loss.
In this working environment, parents or carers will be fully responsible for their children ensuring that they are calm and respectful around livestock and safe around machinery. Ideally this experience is suitable for children age 4 and up.
The experience lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
